THIS WEEK IN PHOTOGRAPHY 04-01-2010
NEW PRODUCTS
Lexar Compact Flash card, 32 gig 600x (90mb/sec), $399.00.
Westcott has designed the new "Adjustable Shoe Mount Clamp" to adjust to a snug fit for all camera shoe-mount flashes. This is a small but significant improvement. Shoe-mount flash bases are rarely the correct thickness to fit properly on this type of clamp. The Westcott clamp allows you to mount your shoe flash onto a light stand and also hold an umbrella or other light modifier. $35.00 |

DID YOU KNOW...
NEVER supply RAW files to a client. It is inconsiderate and unprofessional. RAW files are proprietary formats designed to allow precise editing and manipulation in post-processing using specialized -- often complex -- software. Unless your client has the correct software, there's a strong probablility that they will not be able to open or use the image and that you will have wasted both their time and yours, resulting in frustration, strong language, and an eventual re-do. Save your processed images as .tif or .jpeg files and share them in that format.

Manfrotto is honored to launch the Manfrotto School of Xcellence, with two great webinars from two top mentors: Bill Frakes and Joe McNally. These two events will have masters of photography sharing their amazing imaging experiences and techniques with you. Register today!
The Bill Frakes Webinar is April 1st, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT. "Multimedia In The Music Business: Combining Stills And Videos Shot With A DSLR For Maximum Impact" takes you behind the scenes of Bill’s recent shoot of the band Backyard Babies music video “Abandon.” Backyard Babies is one of the most popular rock bands in Sweden and Bill, winner of the Pulitzer Prize, World Press Award and many others, used at least a 12 camera set up, live performances, studio shots, and a wonderful setting in the frozen Baltic Sea to create this hit music video. Attend the webinar to uncover the secrets of the band’s video, equipment survey and some very interesting backstage stories. Bill Frakes Webinar Register for FREE
The Joe McNally Webinar is April 8th, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT. "Effective Lighting With Just One Light" explores the strategies for using just one light, and using it well. Knowing how to use a one light setup effectively opens up a world of expression to a photographer in the field. Learn how you can create mood and shape a scene, softly light a portrait or create a hard, contrast filled scene all with just one light. Joe McNally Webinar Register for FREE.
