Our OP/TECH order of neoprene camera straps and accessories (including their always popular camera "raincovers") has been received and our strap selection is very extensive. Two new products are available.
Their SLR wrist strap fits comfortably around the wrist and is appropriate for most slr's and binoculars. $9.95.
The OP/TECH rear lens cap for Canon and for Nikon is a better design than the manufacturers'. They are oversized and have a unique o-ring that seals out dust and moisture.
DID YOU KNOW...
that when taking photos of the bride and her wedding party that when the attendants turn toward the bride that they should also place their outside foot in front of their inside foot, point the outside foot toward the camera and then bend the outside knee slightly? This eliminates everyone from looking so rigid while allowing dresses to hang more pleasingly.
JANET'S TIPS OF THE TRADE
Try one of the many new trends in composing a photograph.
1) Tilt your camera to put your subject on the diagonal axis of the frame. Try tiltng in both directions to see what works but don’t let the subject look like it’s falling.
| 2) Place your subject partially outside of the comfort zone (one of the corners or sides of the frame). This leaves a big space in the center that must be visually engaging to make it work. Your eye wants to come back to the center so you need a strong visual element that takes you back to the subject. For example a tree branch, a body position, a person looking back to the center- otherwise, your eye will just follow the subject out of the frame defeating the purpose of the engaging photograph. |
|
This effect takes a little more thought to get it right but it’s fun to do. The new Ford commercials are using this technique and they are really good. You can see what trends are popular by noticing TV ads and how they are filming them. Try it. Have fun. Janet

For my friends (who thought they knew everything):
Donkeys kill more people annually than plane crashes or shark attacks. (So, watch your Donkey ).
The liquid inside young coconuts can be used as a substitute for blood plasma.
You burn more calories sleeping than you do watching television.
