NEW PRODUCT
Serious photographers require a high degree of color accuracy; from capturing images through editing and printing. Datacolor has introduced their third generation of colorimeters. The Spyder3 series calibrate LCD, CRT, and laptop displays.

The Spyder3 Pro colorimeter has state-of-the-art optical design and photo-centric interface. It provides accurate, reliable, consistant color with 16 calibration choices, precise white point and gamma control, and a ReCAL option which cuts re-calibration time in half. You don't have to be a color expert to get good results. An embedded sensor automatically measures ambient light for more precision. A calibrated display will help ensure that your prints will match what you have on the screen. We stock the "Pro" and "Express" models for $159.95 and 89.95 respectively |
DID YOU KNOW...
that you should change all of the batteries in a flash unit at one time no matter how they test individually? Don't mix brands and certainly not types of batteries. The weaker batteries will drain the charge off the stronger batteries as they try to equalize the load. If the batteries don't come out of the same package, check to make sure that their milli-amp ratings are the same to prevent overheating.

JANET'S TIPS OF THE TRADE
Add a Twist to the Traditional: give your photo a different perspective and add visual impact.
First select a subject and photograph it. Take the same subject and change your approach; give it different looks.
1) Change your perspective; shoot looking up on the subject. The closer you are the more dramatic the effect; the farther away, the more subtle. Try both. See what you like
2) Come in as close as your camera will focus to create impact. Maybe just focus on someone’s eyes or on a single flower instead of the whole plant.
3) Shoot at an angle instead of straight on.
4) Change your focal point by focusing on something in the foreground and throwing your subject out of focus. This will give you something to think about.
The more you add to your bag of tricks the more impact your photos will have separating you from everyone else. Just remember, as with any special effect, overuse will no longer make it special. Vary your techniques in each session. Have fun. Janet

Our Canon price lists have been added to this, our primary website. Click the Canon logo on the home page and you can then display our various Canon price lists: slr bodies, lenses, flashes, etc. This is the same information that we see at the sales counter. The lists show if the item is (was) in stock when the html page was updated. As we add more manufacturers, we will update the pages more frequently. The goal right now is to update them with current information weekly by Thursday noon. Although not yet very comprehensive (see the slr body price list), individual listings on the price list will link to the product as contained on our cbPhotoStore web site. This site contains complete product specs and comparison capabilities for the listed products. If you find this resource of value (or not), your suggestions are always appreciated.
