MELISSA"S PHOTOSHOP "TIP-OF-THE-WEEK"
Need to correct the noise in an image? Under the "Filter" menu, scroll down to "Noise" and select "Despeckle". This is a great way to help get rid of noise.

WEIN SAFE-SYNC PREFLASH PROBLEM
We have sold these sync's with the premise that the slaves ignore the camera's "preflash" and fire slaved units with the main flash. It turns out that "this depends". The safe syncs are designed to ignore only one "preflash". This is always true with a compact clamshell camera but Canon dslr's utilize two "preflashes" and Nikon dslr's utilize three "preflashes". This will trigger the slaved flashes too soon. If you purchased a safe-sync to resolve the preflash problem, return it for a refund.

MANFROTTO SUPER CLAMP PROBLEM
A word of warning to super clamp users. Do not attach the bracket directly into a dslr tripod socket. The base plate on the bracket is too small to properly support the weight of the camera. It may become very difficult to remove without damaging the camera's tripod socket. Always mount the camera on an appropriate head with a large base plate first and then attach the head to the super clamp.

COMING SOON TO YOUR SMARTPHONE
3M has developed a "Naked Eye 3-D" optical film for small and medium size LCD panels. The film uses dome-shape lenses on the visible surface of the LCD and prism-like structures on the back side of the film to create 3-D without use of glasses or viewer. 3M will market the product to cellular phone manufacturers.

"To Make A Picture: The Photography from the Paul R. Jones Collection" on exhibition at the Birmingham Museum Of Art. Photographs by Alabama photographer P.H. Polk chronical campus life at the Tuskegee Institute including images of George Washington Carver, Paul Robeson, Joe Louis, Eleanor Roosevelt and other prominent individuals.

Note: The Museum will host a free program about the photographer and his work... TONIGHT... Thursday, February 18th at 6 pm: "P.H. Polk Photographs: Pictures Of Desire" is presented by Amalia Amaki, guest curator of the exhibition.
